How do FASTBRACES® Work?

With safety in mind, FASTBRACES® Technology was developed to straighten teeth differently – allowing for a fast, safe and affordable solution.
FASTBRACES® Technology uses a high performance bracket systems which moves the roots of teeth towards their final positions from the beginning of treatment. This is done by torquing them right from the initial appointment.
Patients can now get results often with less sensitivity, in times measured in weeks or months rather then the previous expectation of years!.

FASTBRACES® Science & Biology

The FASTBRACES® Philosophy believes that teeth are crooked because they didn’t erupt properly into the mouth and came in tilted, sideways and not upright. The system uprights the roots of the teeth in just one stage right from the beginning of treatment, with just one square wire. Allowing typical cases to be completed in weeks to months instead of years.

Why are the FASTBRACES® brackets a different shape (triangular not square)?

Old braces are typically square in shape and they move teeth in multiple stages (using different wires each time). If the square braces are replaced with (smaller) triangular ones, the distance between the brackets increases substantially. Therefore, by doubling the distance for example, the flexibility of the ‘square wire’ can increase by approximately eight times (23 = 8). This results in gentler (but continuous) forces being applied to the brackets via the square wire. There is increased comfort and a reduction in the risk of putting too much force on the brackets (and hence teeth) which can lead to root resorption and other non desirable issues.

FASTBRACES® Treatment Process

Each patient needs to be assessed for their case suitability, this includes factors such as;

  • General dental health (health of teeth and gums)
  • Prior orthodontic experiences (and success)
  • Preferred aesthetic (orthodontic)outcomes
  • Radiographic imaging (x-rays) of the jaw bones and teeth/ roots
  • Medical history
  • Lifestyle factors (is fixed or removable treatment more suitable)

After assessment of patient suitability a Customized Plan is created with an estimate of treatment duration (many cases taking as little as 20 weeks!).
On completion of treatment, the braces are removed and treatment is finished.

After treatment, it is often recommended that the patient wears a retainer every night during a normal 8-hours sleep period (“Teeth Pajamas”) or just in the shower for 15-20 minutes every day (“Tooth Shampoo”) depending upon how much movement has been carried out and how stable the new improved tooth position is. The use and requirement for retainers varies between cases.

Advantages of FASTBRACES®

Fastbraces® technology combines 20 years of experience and development with the today’s innovation to create a product that is both affordable and comfortable. It uses a patented triangular brackets, designed to move the roots of the teeth towards their final position from the onset of treatment.

The original FASTBRACES® Standard Metal™ bracket is still a mainstay; however, there are other options, too.including the more aesthetically pleasing FASTBRACES® Ceramic Clear™ brackets.

The following differences between old technology and the wonderful FASTBRACES® are typically described by users and clinicians;

Old Traditional Braces New Technology FASTBRACES®
Used for Decades 20 Year US track record
Often returns to natural bite Natural bite preserved
Extractions often needed/ recommended (Almost) Always No extractions
Multiple wires used Just one-oire
Typically 2 years (plus?) Typically weeks to months
Typically high host Typically Lower Cost
Delayed root movement Immediate root movement
Root resorption Less root resorption (statistically)
Pain issues Pain reduction (statistically)
Typically 24/7 retainers (post treatment) Typically 15-20 Min./day retainers
